Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Anna University ,College of Engineering, Chennai organized a one day Industrial visit to National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) ,Palikaranai, Chennai on 27th of April for Post Graduates of Applied Electronics students. Visit was organized with prior permission and guidance of our Honorable HOD Dr M. Meenakshi, Guided and supported by Dr N. Ramadass along with Mr. S. Kumaran.
We got benefited in terms of technical details regarding the functions of a various Buoys systems ,Deep Water Ambient Noise Management System (DANMS) , Indigenous Submersible Vehicle – Human Acclimation Chamber – MATSYA 6000 , Unmanned Remotely Operated Submersible (ROSUB 6000) Robot, Polar ROV(Remotely Operated Vehicle) ,Autonomous Coring System(ACS),Indian Integrated Mining System Configuration. Ocean Thermal Energy Conservation (OTEC) - Desalination Plant. Wave powered navigational Buoy. A brief introduction about NIOT and their various educational and researches where presented , followed by a Q&A session.
- An overview about NIOT was given.
- Work of Marine Biologist in preserving the phytoplankton irrespective of change in temperature which, is caused due to dumping waste into the ocean.
